Readers Theater

Today - you will have a few minutes to look over your Readers Theater, then we will present these to class.

After we're finished I want you to write a 1-page paragraph discussing what you believe the meaning of "The Crucible" to be.  Who is the main character and what does the crucible say about the society of the Puritans.

Tomorrow, you will read "From the Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin" and answer question 1-4, and 6.

Friday, you need to work on the personal narrative you started.  This will count as your 2nd draft.  Most of you have at least grammar concerns to address.

Act IV - Monday and Tuesday

Today - we need to finish ACT IV of the Crucible.

HW: Study for Vocabulary Quiz on Monday.

Monday you have a vocabulary quiz.  Tuesday you will be broken up into three groups.  Each group needs to come up with an outline of what happened in their Act and a reduced readers theater presentation.

Act III

Today - we need to go over question #9.

Then finish Act III of the Crucible.  We also need to finish words of the day.

HW: Study your vocabulary words for vocabulary charades tomorrow.

The Crucible

Today we are going to do questions 1-4, 7, 8 in small groups.

Then we are going to begin reading Act III.

Homework: Question 9 on page 179.

Monday

Today - we are going to see are final "review" play for Act I and then begin ACT II.

HW: Finish reading Act II.

ACT I Review

Today - we are going to review ACT I.

First words of the day.  Then, in groups choose one of the following:

Enact Act I

1) as a game show
2) as a "reduced" play (think "REDUCED SHAKESPEARE")
3) as a mime
4) as a play-by-play (as in sports)

You have 20 minutes to do this - then we will view them and move on to ACT 2.
